Hi all,
I am a DeltaVision Elite user experiencing a connection issue. I would appreciate any answers or suggestions from our community. Here is a brief description of the error.
- The blue IC/MIC bottom can not be turned off by a quick click and can only be turned off by holding for >10s.
- The softWoRx shown “Unable to connect to the microscope controller” or “Connection with the instrument controller failed” after opening.
- The instrument controller could not be restarted and kept loading (the small logo bouncing). If I run the script from the terminal, it shows the microscope IP address can not be found. Therefore the microscope can not be connected to the control system.
One possible reason causing this problem is that I didn’t log out of the system before turning off the IC/MIC bottom. I am hoping that this mistake will not damage the system.
Looking forward to any reply and suggestion. Thanks!
Best,
Lanxin
This usually happens when the log and ini files were not saved correctly during a shutdown. The iccmic dv.ini file is corrupt. You need to log in to the iccmic (Windows machine) separately, and then go to the iccmic dv folder. There will be a backup file stored there which you can use to recover the dv.ini file.
If you are in the toronto area let me know I can help
Hi Gagan,
Thank you for providing the information. Our team contacted the Leica service team, and they are still in service, surprisingly. They seem to have done a similar thing to fix it. I can follow your instructions if this issue happens again. Thank you again for your help, and wish you a good day!

Hello, I would appreciate it if you could provide more details about how you resolved the connection problem, as I am facing a similar issue. I checked the .ini
file and it seems fine, but I’m not sure if I should focus on a specific parameter or also in the log one.
Thanks in advance!
it may not be the same problem in your case. I would compare the contents of the dv.ini file with the backup version stored in the same folder (i can’t remember the naming convention but can look it up if you can’t find it). If they are identical then you may be having a different issue. you can always do an experiment by renaming the backup as the ‘ini’ and trying to see if it solves your problem (please make backups of both ini and backup file before doing this!).
Thanks for your suggestion. I tried to use the backup dv.ini file but there is still the problem of communication.
I checked the ICCMIC (Windows Computer) and it seems ok but it didnt detect the other system.
I was wondering if there is a problem with the inifityBand connection but both of them appears Initializing and Linkup.
I will appreciate if you have any ideas… thanks in advance!
This looks more of a hardware problem. I would suspect the cables first(the ones between the iccmic and the Linux). Would it be possible to switch them?
Thanks for your reply! In fact, it is only one cable between them (qsfp mellanox cable). I don’t have but I will check if they can buy it.
