New device CellEraser to heat adherent cells locally

I want to introduce our new microscope attachment CellEraser. The physical principle of this device is based on millimeter wave radiation (94 GHz, 3 mm wavelength). It can heat cells locally (spot is 500-1000 micron in diameter) to any desired temperature and for any needed time. Depend on temperature you can get different results: cells will be “erased” - spontaneously detached from substrate (50C) or instantly fixed via thermal fixation (“thermofixation”) at 70C. Exposure to 43-44C will induce Heat shock proteins synthesis in cells.
