Frequency Domain FLIM hardware needed

Hi all, I have been getting conflicting information on how FD-FLIM works. Particularly relating to the lock-in amplifier. I currently have a system setup for confocal spectroscopy with OBIS lasers and Excelitas SPCMs for photon counting.

My basic understanding is that one can use a pulse/function generator to generate a high frequency pulse. In my case I’m thinking about using existing OBIS LX lasers capable of 150Mhz digital modulation. My SPCMs have dead time of 30ns give or take.

For the lock in amplifier, is the output the same rate as the laser pulse? Or is it integrated over time? I can’t figure out the sampling rate of the lock-in amp and DAQ needed to achieve FD FLIM.
