Hello Micro-community!
Is there an “easy to prep” (non-labor intensive/few reagents) FLIM sample to use to train microscopy users? Thats visually impressive, but gets the job done?

If it is for 2P FLIM I would recommend 4-methyl-2-nitroaniline. Suspend the cystals in permount, and you’ll have both a permanent demo slide and calibration slide. It has highly efficient second harmonic generation, so the lifetime is 0 ns which is great for calibrating FLIM. It is also visually cool as you can clearly see the SHG light by eye.

thanks! its for 1P FLIM, but i appreciate the idea!
Hi,
A very practical sample might be pollen grains for example from the plant Convallaria. Such samples are not expensive and are robust.
