Water Dipping Objective in pH 10-12 environment. A hazard for the Objective?

Hey everybody,
I plan to use a water dipping objective (20X Olympus XLUMPLFLN) in a pH 10-12 dipping environment. I am concerned about ruining the objective. Does anybody has experience in this regard? Are there issues with the coating on the front lens, when the pH is higher than 7? Does somebody has a lead where I can get more information?

Best regards,
Mark

Hi Mark,
I don’t know of this or other dipping lenses being used for this high a pH. I would recommend contacting the lens manufacturer to ask if it might damage the lens coatings, adhesives, etc.
