Greetings ya’ll. What’s your favorite live cell membrane dye? Are there any cross overs with fixed cells? I wish we could have little vial of something fun we can give to our users when we are discussing segmentation at the live and fixed level. If it’s multipurpose that’s an even bigger win.

For your live cell experiments, how long do you need it to last? There are a number of good dyes out there but for live-cell work, they are internalized relatively quickly (~20 min).
And does it matter if the stains is plasma membrane only? Or do you prefer to have something that stains all lipid membranes?
