Bioimage Analysis Beginnings Bootcamp - Aug 4th-8th 2025, Cambridge MA

Hi folks,

(crossposted to image.sc, can’t post the link for some crankiness reason)

For the first time ever, the Cimini lab is hosting a “Bioimage Analysis Beginnings” bootcamp! This course is designed to teach bioimage analysis decision-making principles (how do I decide which tool to use? how do I realize when my image analysis is “good enough”?), as well as an introduction to the current landscape of open-source image analysis for light microscopy. Attendees will gain comfort in using a number of popular free, open source tools for a number of image analysis tasks, including manual annotation, classical segmentation, and retraining of deep learning models. Attendees will also have the chance to learn from expert image analysts with deep connections to the global image analysis community, who can advise on the best ways to bring these lessons back to their home institution or group.

We expect the attendee who will receive the most benefit from this course will be a biologist with light microscopy experience but limited experience with image analysis decision making, but are open to attendees from a variety of scientific and technical backgrounds. All attendees are strongly encouraged to complete the Microtutor course in Fluorescence Microscopy in advance of the bootcamp.
